that Arby's guy
We pulled up to the Arby's drive thru and placed our order. Conversation goes as follows:
Man: "Will that be all ma'am?"
Me: "Yep, perfect!"
Man: "Not quite perfect ma'am. Not until you order an apple pie."
Me: "Haha. Ok and I would like an apple pie."
Man: "Perfect, that will be $45.62." (snickering)
Thinking to myself that doesn't sound right?! We pulled up to the window. He hands us our meal with this grin on his face like he just won a million dollars.
Man: "That will be $15.62."
Me: (that sounds better) "Oh can we get Arby's sauce with that?"
Man: "Oh I'm sorry there is a shortage in Arby's sauce . . . . Bahaha nah I'm just kidding, here you go."
Nan (my sister): "You sure are happy. Thank you."
Man: "Well the Lord woke me up today so there must be something to be grateful for. Today is another gift from God. I have every reason to be happy!"
As we gather our stuff we hear him speaking in the intercom to the next car: "That will be $162.84. Bahaha nah I'm just kidding . . . "
How much are we missing out on because we are so busy looking at the negative in our lives? And yes sometimes the negative is so prevalent it is hard to not look. But there is much truth in this man's perspective on life. There must be a good reason I "woke up" today. So if I can't see it right away then I'll look for it. Today should always be enough.
